The Rumpus Room’s newest technological landmark is the TVC & music video for Xbox 360's new singing game LIPS. Working alongside Global Productions and director 'Caswell Coggins', the multi-format, multi-platform campaign brought thousands of people around the UK singing Lily Allen’s hit single, “The Fear”, into a world where they sing together with Lily herself.
The initial creative demanded a real world activation of thousands of performances drawn from the streets and shopping centres of the UK. An activation of this scope brought with it the accompanying challenge of integrating many diverse performances on screen in a cohesive and intriguing piece, realised ultimately in a mosaic montage that captures the charm, spirit and performativity of the British public.
The ensuing creative approach developed by this team, combined with the technical innovations initiated for the project, allowed the authenticity of the real performances at the heart of the film to be retained and honoured, turning these already remarkable building blocks into a piece of digital architecture greater than the sum of its parts as well as communicating a powerful testimonial for the product at the heart of both films.
